MARITIME FESTIVAL 2014

The sound of sea shanties and the aroma of sizzling Norfolk herring returns to South Quay on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 September 2014 for the Great Yarmouth Maritime Festival. Admission is free but a minimum donation of £1 is welcomed as a contribution towards costs and to help the Festival continue for future years.

Two tall ships are visiting this year. The Minerva (right), a three masted Dutch schooner, will be offering passenger sailing trips from Thursday 4 September through to Sunday 7 September. The Tres Hombres, a 32 metre brigantine, is welcomed back for a second visit.

Visitors can also go on board Great Yarmouth's much loved steam drifter, Lydia Eva.

Admiral Lord Nelson and the beautiful Lady Emma will be in attendance, along with Festival regulars Horatio Herring, Mrs H and Lofty the Lighthouse.

And reassuringly, the brave lads of the East Norfolk Militia will be defending South Quay from the threat of French invasion!
